Barrios, Carlos

Carlos Barrios, an artist originally from El Salvador, now resides in Queensland. His upbringing was heavily influenced by his father's work as an archaeologist, exposing him to ancient artifacts that sparked his imagination and a sense of connection to other dimensions. He began painting fantastical figures at a young age but shifted to illustrating the horrors of the Salvadoran civil war during his adolescence. Barrios aims to depict the inherent goodness he sees in humanity, which is why his artworks often feature numerous figures. He has been recognized as a finalist in several art prizes, including the Blake Prize and the Sulman Prize.
