Amanda Penrose Hart is a Brisbane-born landscape painter who graduated from Queensland College of Art in 1983 and Griffith University in 1991. Her work emphasizes travel and *en plein air* practice to capture the significance of various locations. Dr. Andrew Frost notes that she creates a sense of familiarity with unseen landscapes by connecting the audience's personal experiences with her interpretations of Australian and European landscapes.

Penrose Hart has participated in numerous group exhibitions, often related to artist trips or projects, including "Your Friend the Enemy," "Salient," and "River on the Brink: Inside the Murray Darling Basin," the latter raising awareness about drought and climate change impacts in Australia. She won the Gallipoli Art Prize in 2017, the Clayton Utz Award in 2019, and The Calleen Award in 2024. She has also been a finalist in several other prizes, such as the Tattersalls Landscape Prize and the Kings School Art Prize. More of her work can be found at kingstreetgallery.com.au.
