Betty Club Mpetyane, an Aboriginal Australian artist, was born in the Utopia region of Central Australia, about two hours northeast of Alice Springs. Coming from a family of artists, her mother, Minnie Pwerle, and sister, Barbara Weir, were both renowned in their own right. Growing up amidst the burgeoning art scene in Utopia, Betty and her sisters were inspired to pursue painting.

Betty began her artistic journey with a batik project, which involved traveling across Australia with other batik artists. Following her mother's passing, she gained prominence by depicting her mother’s stories in her artwork. Her paintings often feature elements like bush melon seeds represented by smaller circles, and 'Ntgant' or soakage sites (concentric circles) that collect rainwater, along with the regenerating melon seeds shown as small dots. Additionally, her works incorporate 'Awelye' or body painting designs, traditionally applied to women's upper torsos for ceremonies. Betty Club Mpetyane sadly passed away in 2023.
